Hello! Welcome. Useless Game Dev is a Youtube channel created in September 2022 where I (Leonard) make silly game development ideas and prototypes, with some technical information sprinkled on top if you're into game dev. The goal is to make videos for advanced technical users, that are entertaining and somewhat useful to learn some game dev concepts, through silly and unexpected game mechanics and simulations.

This website aims at providing text versions of the videos to help with copying code snippets and searching for keywords which is unfortunately impossible with videos.

Series

There are multiple series on the channel.

• Useless Game Dev: the titular series aims at developing silly game prototypes and exploring game mechanics, algorithms, and data structures.
• Game Dev's Revenge: a series where I pick games I am terrible at, and write a program that tries to play it in my place, to finally get the high score I never could achieve.
• Code Review: in this series I take about actual code I make in my actual job as a game developper working on production projects.
• ... and more to come!

Each series has a specific hoodie color for the kappa avatar, making it easy for you to identify the content from the thumbnail!
